'Bron 'Bron has publicly stated that he wants to be the biggest name in sports. His drive to play basketball at a high level is not necessarily about money and it's not necessarily about winning. It is about being the most known name in sports. He now has a chance to do so in the wake of Tiger's downfall. LeBron can become the biggest name and the most respected and looked up to player.
Of course, the NBA is a business and no one understands this better than LeBron. He needs a major market, and in fact he thrives for it. LeBron wears Yankee hats whenever he is out, he parties in NYC with major rap and movie stars, and he's even featured in bigger billboard ads in NYC than in Cleveland. The NYJames movement has been strong for 2 years when the public realized that the 2010 free agency period would be one of the biggest in NBA's history. The pull from New York can not be outmatched by the pull to stay in Cleveland. If LeBron is serious about his dreams he needs to come to the Big Apple. It is the only place in America that can quickly make him the biggest star in the world. No where else in the country has the star power, the charisma, and the tourist attraction of NYC.
At first being a Knicks fan I put them as the front runners to pick up LeBron, but now that the Nets are moving to Brooklyn they seem to be the favorites. I think he would love nothing more than to play in Brooklyn for the franchise partly owned by Jay-Z. He could become the poster child for success and the most loved man in NYC sports today if he is able to take arguably the worst team in NBA history to success in one year. The man would be a certified sports hero, a global icon, and everything else he dreams of.
Lebron leaving his god-tier team to go play for the fucking Nets or the Clippers? Maybe in Dimension X
