Friday's Sports Feature: Are We Sexist?

I spent a recent weekend at the University of Connecticut to visit some local hoodlums and tricks. As I was there I decided to do a little research on what was supposed to be "Gender Issues in Sports." What I ended up studying was a little topic called "Are We Sexist?" After leaving UCONN I continued my survey on some other random participants on the streets and over the internet. 

So, are we sexist? Answer after the break.

My first question was the most relevant for the week I was there, "How do you feel about Danica Patrick joining NASCAR?" (I know NASCAR is not a sport but this time we will let it slide.) The question disappointed me because most answer, to paraphrase, were "NASCAR's not a sport," or "I don't care." Some participants gave different answers though. 

Mark, age 20 said, "She's just driving in a circle. Anyone can do that, man or woman."

James, age 21 thought, "She's hot so I guess it's a good thing."

Brittany age 20 said, "I mean, I think it would be cool and all. Billy Jean King did it in tennis and whooped up on a guy so I think she can probably do it."

Samantha, age 19 said, "Good for her, but it doesn't really affect me. As long as this makes her do less Go Daddy commercials."

Unfortunately she will most likely to MORE commercials since they sponsor all over Danica's car. 

My next question was "Why are men so much better at sports?"

Brett, age 19 boasted, "We are bigger, stronger and faster."

Brittany, age 20 claimed, "Cause they just are. I can't deny it..."

James, age 21 said, "Guys are better at everything, so it's pretty obvious."

Jake, age 20 said simply, "God."

Tigran, age 19 said, "Because we have penises."

Kelly, age 19 said, "That's not even close to true, asshole."

"Should Little League Baseball be co-ed?"

Jackie, age 19 said, "I would say no, because boys have a different attitude towards sports than girls do so it would be uncomfortable."

Mike, age 20 said, "Yeah, why not?"

Jared, age 19 thought, "Ha, no. Girls would get hurt and cry or something."

"Are women only really useful in the kitchen?"

Jackie said "I'm not answering that!"

Brittany agreed, "That is a ridiculous question"

Jake, age 20, "No, who else is going to drive the kids to soccer practice?" 

"Are men just pigs with one track minds?"

Kenny, age 18 said, "You know thats not true." I said, "I know, I just had to keep the feminist happy."

Karen, age 22 said, "Of course not. They have 2, sex and food."

In conclusion, are we sexist? Short answer: Yes.

Men and women are both sexist jerks. Guys are stupid. Girls are irrational. Girls suck at sports. Guys are assholes about sports and pigs. Girls are only good in the kitchen or for procreating. We are all prejudice on this subject. The world is going to end. Goodbye.
