Week 14 Power Rankings

I had a lot of fun watching ESPN's 3 golden boys (Favre, Brady and Romo) fail at leading their teams to comeback victories. This week just proves 3 of 18-1's beliefs: Favre is not MVP and will collapse and throw picks under pressure, Brady is NOT CLUTCH, his wins are courtesy of Awesome Adam Vinatieri field goals, and Romo will always be bad in December and the playoffs. Rankings after the break!

This year it is really just the Colts and the Saints, then everyone else is a jumbled mess for 3rd place. The Colts get #1 still because they have looked stronger and made their comebacks against strong teams.

Crown the NFC north champs with a sombrero

They did struggle with some teams earlier in this win streak but they keep on winning. I don't think they can go too far in the playoffs though.

Brett Favre is NOT MVP. The Vikings are NOT the best team in the NFC either, don't listen to ESPN or NFL broadcasts.

They are the best .500 team to ever play football.

The NFC East is the most inconsistent division in football. The Eagles can look so dominant but then lose to teams like the Raiders. The Giants can look so bad and then beat some pretty good teams. And the 'Boys, like always, can look potent throughout the whole season until things get cold and important.

I loved watching Brady fail yet again at mounting a comeback. Even so, their defense is the biggest issue.

After going through a terrible losing streak they are trying to get back on track and killing the Cheifs will help that.

At the start of the season Flacco was brilliant and clutch. Now he is making terrible mistakes and losing games. Plus their defense is good, but not as smothering as they used to be so they can't over come their offense woes.

Even with a brain damaged QB they managed to light up the "unstoppable" Vikings defense and beat the "MVP" Bart Farve.

I guess they miss Troy, a lot.

Rax Grassman playing for just a little bit still ruined this teams chances at winning.

After giving up over 200 yards to the Cowboys running game last time, they only gave up 45 this time around. The defense was flying around and playd with heart for the first time in many many weeks. They need to do that for the rest of the season if they want a chance.

ARod throws a beautiful ball even though he has some awareness issues. Without Al Harris they still looked pretty good on defense and should make a good run to preserve their wildcard birth.

Vince loses for the first time in 10 games. Of course it was against the Colts so there isn't much to be concerned about considering the amazing turn around this team is in the middle of.

It is hilarious to see that Tony Homo and the 'Boys are always SO BAD when things matter.

This defense has been playing amazing recently. Until the later minutes in the game they played well on Sunday also. Finally Jason Campbell is shaping up to be a real QB.

This was their chance to beat the lowly Seahawks then face the Cards next week and be in position to take the NFC West. Good teams thrive in these opportunities but they couldn't pull it off. Oh and why is Frank Gore only getting 9 carries?

I thought they hired Joe Giradi to teach Sanchez to slide? The Jest didn't really play that well but they are just better than the Bills.

Having Matty Ice on the field might have helped a little, but he couldn't do anything to help that terrible defensive performance.

They didn't take advantage of the turnovers at all. This game shouldn't have been so close with the way Freeman played.

I would have expected a bigger showing from Cutler and the bunch against the Rams, but at least Jay didn't fuck up.

They were lucky they got to face Rex for part of the game. The offense did it's job though.

The Bills are back to having no offense.
26 (27)
After giving up over 200 yards rushing to Gore in 2 of their last 3 meetings, the Niners decided to only run it 9 times which benefited the Seahawks. They stayed with the Niners the whole game and won it at the end even though they are clearly a worse team.

27 (26)
They played terrible. Orton threw a pick and lost 2 fumbles and the Chiefs still couldn't score, or play any sort of defense.

They are the Ultimate Trolls of the NFL. To top it off Bruce Gradkowski had more TDs in that 4th quarter than Jamarcus has had all season. Goodbye Jamarcus' career?

Josh Freeman, I am disappoint.

They kept it pretty close and put up some offensive numbers, but injuries and pure lack of talent in some areas are their downfall. Aka, they just aren't good.

They aren't going to win games with their defense and Kyle Boller at the helm.

It wasn't as close as the score seemed, yet Brady Quinn put up good numbers again. This could actually be a good game against the Steelers on Thursday.

  1. About the Cards, I'm just scared Kurt is going to go down, and there is no way they can be a winning team with Leinart...

  2. No Warner = Cardinals in freefall. When he went down Vs St Louis they failed to score another point in over a half of football. Agains the Rams.
